hiatus/new clean slate

Starting over isn't easy, and no one said it was.

Starting a clean slate, starting over, and picking up the pieces you have takes time.

As time has passed by, so have I.

so, what's in the past stays in the past.

what's done is done.

what's over is completely over.

meaning i'm done.

clean slate.

full/sole custody

I have full/sole custody of our children.
That means I have full access to them at all times, and have exclusive rights to whatever happens to them for the rest of their lives.
That means I get to choose on their well-care, well-being and their safety and protection.
Which is reassuring to know and to let others know the same.

http://ibyisaliamom.com

basic set up, basic for now, still working on it, will be adding more things soon.

maybe if you have a link, or two, or your own site, your own blog, your own advertisements for your business I'll put it up.

cutco: cuts your mind, with all the things u find. :)

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem.
In the name of Allah (God), Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
Yes, a little bit helps 4 Cutco, as it cuts your mind, with all the things you need to find. I know it sounds cheesy, sorry. I apologize, I really, really apologize. I'm not really that type of person that does this, this is all new to me to go about doing this.

Even if no one is paying any attention or just are not interested. I know I may not be the greatest person at advertising, or socializing yet I'm trying my best at these communication skills, building skills of getting back into full swing.

You might be thinking, what is she talking about? What does she mean? What does her status mean, especially within the last few weeks when she's been talking about Cutco, and booking appointments, and contact me type of stuff? Well, I'll tell you.

I got a job, in where I sell Cutco. You ask what is cuto?

Well http://www.cutco.com To get a better idea, you'd have to go to that website to see.

To see the company I work for Vector Marketing, you'd have to go to http://www.vmcanada.ca/ Basically, I get paid to show Cutco presentations. Whether or not anyone buys anything or not, I still get paid.

If you get something, great...if you don't get anything, it's ok too because I still get a chance to visit you. And especially to my friends whom I haven't seen in the longest time, except at reunions, or passing on by through parties and etc, this gives us a chance to meet up, in person, at each other's houses for it.

Come on, tell me seriously, who wouldn't want to meet up for some old laughs over "Coconut College, Four Corners, and well all that stuff we went through all those years in school, you know the ones I mean"?

Or for people that don't remember, or want to remember cuz of our crazy adventures, talks, behaviors, attitudes, and hairdo's..ha ha....

Now, I don't want to sound like a pain in the rear end, or even a nuisance, or some of those real annoying telemarketing, salespeople, you know the ones I mean.

Like the ones that pester you, and you're like "No I'm sorry not interested," or you just hand the phone off to your children to talk, or do some rude gestures and motions into the phone, or something just as annoying that they don't call you back, or call you at that exact moment when they want to talk to you.

I don't want to be like that, and I really pray I don't come off as that, especially in my status updates, and especially, especially if I happen to facebook mail you, or send you a chat message.

I know some of you will try to be nice and curteous as possible by telling me you're just NOT interested, even if you're not going to buy anything you don't even want to take a quick peek, or quick glance because you don't want to get tempted and buy something on impulse, which I know can happen sometimes.

And I don't mind if you guys tell me off either, well..actually to be honest with you, I do mind..but please be kind and just tell me no way hosay and that's not your thing, and I'll try to back off and try to remember not to contact you

and even if I forget which I happen to do sometimes because with the list of my contacts I'm starting to lose track of whose who and where people live to see who I can contact, which I really, really apologize because I seem to have an excellent memory like an elephant yet resemble the mouse, :) or a skinny elephant with a super sharp memory of remembering ppl even if it's been 10-20 years..some even way back to 30 yrs ago...yikes! So, I don't want you to do that.

Yet, if you can, and don't mind sparing a few minutes of your time, to let me know which day works for you, which time, I can give you a day I'm free and timings, yet sometimes it'll work for you, and sometimes it won't work. I don't want to pressure you or force you, because I'm not one of those aggressive, pushy types of people.

Seriously guys! I'm a considerate, compassionate, caring person that just needs some people, leads, referrals, whatever you can throw at me just as long as it's not something hurtful like objects and spam junk emails and applications for poker games and such..like blinko, plinko win money on facebook, as if..ha ha. Even if you want to tell me to drop dead, and get a life, and get another job. That's great advice, I really appreciate that.

Even if you say, "Hina, you know, with the great skills you have, you can do so, so much more, and you have a lot in you." Great, that's great. I really appreciate it. Whether your comments are positive, or negative nature. You know nothing can really bring me down anymore really as I've been there, done that and I tell you...

I'm one of those types of people that refuse, refuse...refuse to give up...surrender...and give in.... I like to be motivated, determined, inspired, committed to really getting things done. So, please. I ask you...even if you can tell me of some of your friends that would be interested, all they have to do..or all you would have to do is just give me your name, #, and a day and time that would be good for you..or even your name and # in my private mail and I'll call you. Even if you can refer your friends, family...anyone....even if you want to get a good laugh at my own expense, fine..cool...I'm up for that too. So, I'm booking appointments this week, next week or within the next few weeks.

Let me know and I really, really appreciate your time, effort, patience, understanding, careth, yes, did I mention patience? and I'm sure, I'll be adding more things to this note, like a part 2, and part 3, for things I can think of to do, and plan and I really hope someone can squeeze in something..anything...you know.

And I'm doing this because I'm putting myself through school, going back to college after many many years away of staying at home with the kids, so it takes a lot, and need to pay the bills and such. Especially with the economy we're living in, recessions and such, need to do whatever I can as we all do. So, :)

I'll leave it at this end and say, it's all up to you. Thank you for listening, reading, and I apologize again for this mega long babble of a talk. And I wouldn't blame you if you happen to put me on your limited profile contact list, or cut me off completely like blocking me off, deleting me off, and removing me and even finding you from the facebook world to avoid me.

Hey, I know....sorry..... but....i don't want to be one of those dishonest ppl. I like my friends, i love them...i love to be upfront, respectful, and honest..sincere, compassionate, considerate, committed, trustworthy, sincere, patient, understanding, caring, sharing, oh I can list you a hundred other qualities, yet for all those that know me, personally from meeting me at conferences, and school, and parties you know the kind of "lively" person I am, and how friendly I am with everyone, doesn't matter if you're black, white, polka dotted, small, big, this country, that country, this background, that background, that religion, this religion, doesn't matter to me.

Each person matters, each person is unique and each person has their own style and method of doing things and I just want to say I know and I'm here. Whether you're having a real, really crappy day. I'm here to inspire you, to boost you..to tell you to hang in there and you'll get through it, I believe in you. I really do. I'm not just saying that to get you to contact me, but I do. I really care about my friends.

I was really distraught when I found out a couple of years ago, when one of our friends from high school passed away, it was really hard on me, especially since I saw her in the summer that year in 2007 and she was fine one day.......and as I returned overseas, I was talking to her one day and she was there fine...and I told her I'd talk to her soon as I was in the middle of something, and she too told me she had to meet up with ppl....that was the last time. And it hurts me that I never really got to say goodbye.

Which is why I made a promise to myself to talk to many of my friends as much as possible, keep in touch with them, visit them, even if we talk for a few mins on facebook, mail each other, talk to each o ther on the phone, see each other in person for a bit. Just a little bit helps. Esp the friends that say they're feeling crappy because of their crappy day and crappy life.

I want to say...pls... I like you, love you..you guys are great ppl. and not to give up. We all have those days, and I know...hey I really know...so I want to say..pls don't ever feel like that. and if you do...contact me and I really hope I'm there to help you out as much as I can possibly can. I really don't know what I'd do if I found out another friend something would happen to them that I never got a chance to say goodbye... so pls... anyways dont want to really go off topic yet I put all of this into one long one, so I leave it at this. :)

A little bit helps for Cutco, as it cuts your mind, and gives you all that you can find. :)

and for those that are getting married you can register, get gift registry too http://www.cutcogiftregistry.ca

so contact me and I'll pass you my name and my rep # and depending on your friends, and family that buy stuff on there for you for your wedding/marriage etc, that I get commissions/points from them.

So for those whom I can't do presentations cuz of location, you guys all live far, far away so this is another way.

and I think to go through that method, and even if I have to show you the products through :D online I will.

so.. :)

hajj and then some

The other night my children and I sat gathered around my computer as we watched an "old hajj" cd of ours that was produced in Dec 2007.

It was suppose to be a 20 episode of the series of our Hajj experience, but we were just sent a 40 min clip preview of it. My sons wanted to see themselves as they were eager to catch a glimpse of themselves yet I told them the CD is very basic.

So we watched it, with some of the scenes being quite disturbing to them that they had to block it from straining their eyes.

And then, they sat around reading other articles and such online with me. This is around 11pm at night when they should be in bed, but rather they were gathering around me talking to me, and asking me all sorts of questions.

And it was their summer vacation as is their summer vacation so I let them ask the questions, and I let them go on and read these articles and post in their responses, I told them whatever you feel and as long as it's appropriate then please comment and post it as it is. Which they did.

I do supervise when they do research and read articles on line, as much as still letting them read as much as they need to know and learn and grow.

So, that's my 2 cents.

I share add my 5 cents of worthy cause of information of my mid-term online exam is this week, 1 presentation in a couple of days, 2 reports due next week, 1 other presentation next week, 2 final exams the week later.
PLUS work, I got a job! Alhamdulillah. Awesome, awesome!

Ok. Still need to find a 2nd job though, one job isn't enough to feed, clothe, and take care of 3 little ones as well as myself.

which is why I propose to holding a garage / auction sale soon. Old records, record player, books, toys, toys that my kids no longer seem interested in anymore these days, and toys that were passed down to us from cousins and such that the kids have no interest in playing and it just sits there in the box, collecting dust, taking up room and space in which a child, someone that would appreciate it, love it, might enjoy playing with it which is why I want to get rid of the clutter.

PLUS my kids are fascinated with these plastic cups that they are building towers out of them building them up high and blowing it down with their stinky breath, ha ha, and kung foo'ing it down, and accidently being pushed into it, and sitting on it, and letting the natural wind outside blow it down, and mowing their jump ropes into it and such.

Yes, and their Wii's and ds's and such. But, they have a whole round of books to keep them occupied and busy.

The books I'm getting rid of our mine, and some old recipe books that are more useful find on line.

so I better get back at cracking at the books, the notes, the reports, the presentations of final touches, dealing with :D :D and work...joy of work....and joy of it.

but no joy in immaturity, no joy in harassing ones that seem more obsessive and possessive in holding onto things not belonging to them, and thinking it will somehow threaten a person's well being.
well hasn't and what hasn't has made me STRONGER to say, sorry but doesnt work.
try again.

don't let the door hit you on your way out.

take care

What more can I say, and what more can I do?
How many people are even reading this?
Does it even matter?
Just as long as I'm venting it and getting it all down on paper, or blog wise,
I guess it's the first step in healing.

2003 till now

Wow!

I signed up for this blog in early Jan 2003, and now it's June 2009.

A lot has changed in the past 6 years.

If I had known then, what I didn't know now. I wonder if I would have to go through it still?

I think and wonder that it made me a lot stronger, and looking at things from a different angle.
Usually I'd look at it this way. Now, when I glance at it. I really, really, examine it. I read it from a different point of view. I read it as if I'm in those shoes, and those are what I could/would be feeling if that happened to me.

And it makes me realize that despite all I've gone through, there are a lot of women/people that have gone through worse. There were people in the time of the Prophet SAW and the Companions (RA) that gone through struggles, and the other Prophets, and the followers during those times, and the struggles on what they went through, and the people of our ancestors and the struggles they went through to migrate to this place, and dealing with the discrimination that they faced.
And the ones now dealing with the struggles and pressures of today. The media, the society, the environment, this whole recession going on, with the economy going down, and people losing their jobs, and not having a lot!

Take it from me, from a person that was born and brought up in Canada, and having all these privileges available and resources easily accesible. And going to other places in where these things are not easily available all the time, it was quite a struggle.
You learned to appreciate it, even the essence of the quality and quantity of water, the pressure of water available, and not having to wait for the water to heat up, and going through a water tank and waiting for the water tank man to come fill it up.

*Sigh*

From a person that had to go through that, plus the emotional, verbal, and other types of abuse in a relationship, in a marriage in where we're suppose to completely put our trust in each other, and careth, and love and patience, understanding and all, that it all comes down to boil to this.

abuse is never ok.....it's a crime against human law, and against islamic law. If people want to flash the islamic law cards at me, then you have to go through it all the way, and go according to what it says all the time. It's not a pick and choose and do whatever suits you kind of thing.
If it doesn't work for you, you can do without.

It's real annoying that we have to always apologize for something we didn't do, or something we did do to excuse for the abuse taking place. But, when you stand up for your rights, and stand up for this cause, you have the upper hand. You have that firm to say, you won't take this anymore and there's no one that can tell you otherwise.
No one that can bully you, or intimidate you into keeping it quiet and all "hush" "hush".

There can be people that spread such things to discredit you, because they are afraid people will believe you and not be with them.
That's their problem if they promote/support abusers to continue abusing because they want to keep them pleased and bring the money in.
Allahu Alim.

I can honestly say, that people like that have the disease in their hearts. They feel the rules of Islam, and rules of the world only apply to other people and not to them. They feel that they are exempted from it, from the responsibilities because Allah understands their pressures and knows. Yes, it's true Allah Knows All!
And Knows Best.
But, by saying that, you sure be aware of the intention, and if your intention isn't pure, and real then really what is the point?

my recipes

I have another blog in which I post recipes and things.
You are more than welcomed to check it out, and pass it around and even try the recipes yourself.
Very simple, and easy to read and prepare.

http://ibyisaliamom.wordpress.com

As for now, I am preparing this amazing 4 layer lasagna dish, bottom layer of cooked ground beef, then 2nd layer of vegetables, 3rd layer of meat, and 4th layer of veg/riccota cheese.
In between each layer, it's smothered in shredded mozarella/cheddar cheese, with a creamy tomato sauce.
and baked to such delicious smell of aroma from the tomato sauce, and noodles, and mmm..
you just have to try it!
:D

for the recipe.....check the above link for it and many more.

copy and paste

Is it just me or can no one copy and paste? I've been trying to copy and paste a document piece and it just won't seem to let me do that. Yet I can post my own, and even if my own was posted elsewhere and I just want to add it here too, it won't let me.

As people tell me I should not blog.

I ask them what about the million others that blog, some rant and rave about the same things.

They say those people do not concern them, but what I do concerns them deeply as my words matter.

Sometimes they'll say it does not matter, if it does not matter then you would not make it a point to use my "blogs" against me as a threat, a promise or whatever excuse you want to do.

People tell me to stop blogging, stop face-booking, stop msn'ing, stop it altogether.
but why?

If I were to type in the blog search of certain issues, you'd see tons of blogs out there on these subjects, what makes mine any different from theirs?

is it because I said things that are very sensitive that hit very close to home?
is it because it's getting you to face reality, the reality that is close to home?

abuse exists.

does not matter if you did not see it, it exists.

you can deny it all you want, you can say well i made it up because i'm a sick individual that has nothing better to do with her time, because i love the drama, etc.... i've heard it all before, yet not true...... a person would not pretend to be sick, a person would not fake severe migraines just to get out of "household chores, or minding the children".

If you can name a person, a reliable person, a valid person, a real person, than I would like to ask that person if they stooped down low and if they did, why is it that others that speak the truth get a bad reputation, a bad name as a result of just that one individual?

Also, that one individual or even a group of people that did that does not mean necessarily that I fall into that same category.

Allahu Alim.

We need to stop the generalization and stereotyping. As there are tears falling, from my eyes, and from yours.

As there were tears falling from the Prophet SAW as he read the last Sermon, tears, real tears falling at the state of the Ummah would face.

As we look back into the past and see in which our own brothers and sisters in Islam suffered, we see that Islam opened up many opportunities to them to get their justice, to get their sense of peace, tranquility, hope and a sense of goodness.

Islam does not tolerate abuse, no excuses for it. Islam does not encourage abuse, nor does it say we should ignore it. Islam does not say we should not speak of it, or pretend it's not existing.
As Muslims we shouldn't, but unfortunately we have and are.

I can honestly say that there are a lot of us that are coming out into the open about the "abuse" we lived through, and does that mean because we are threatened we should stop because there are too many people that wants it to continue on and on, until our great-great grand children will be the ones to eliminate it period!

I do not want to wait till our great, great, grandchildren come to stop it. I want to start now.

and I hope you do too.

hmmmm

Is it just me, or do people do not know how to read these days?

My webpage, one of my 1st websites that I wrote over 11 years ago is still standing.

http://listen.to/ummnurah or http://www.angelfire.com/me/ummnurah

and

http://welcome.to/prophets or http://www.angelfire.com/on/ummiby1

The first two are the same ones, the first one is easier to memorize and say and the 2nd is the longer version of it.

The first two came out in 1998 or so as I was working on it back then. It was shortly after my son Ibrahim was born. He's now 11, no longer little one anymore.

My 2nd one of prophets are "Stories of the Prophets" by Ibn Kathir. I remember having that book when I lived in Cairo, and learning from them back then, that book was published in 1996 yet it was not available in the U.S. or Canada, yet if I wanted for the good purpose of spreading the knowledge of this enlighting book I could post all the information as it could encourage people to purchase their own books.

Now I'm told it's available in many different languages, and it is now available in the U.S. and in Canada, and it has been over 13 years since the book came out so I guess it's good progress.

I just have to say though, please.....

I'm a sister.

I'm a woman, a mother, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a cousin, a friend, a sister in islam, and please when you send me an email, or sign my guestbook please do not address it as "Dear brother" Or "you're such a great guy brother."

That's why it says Mother of Light, mothers are usually females, women as far as I know and remember so please...address it as that.

JazakuAllahkhairun.

UPDATED!

I just completed my 1st year at college in Office Admins-Legal.
I got pretty awesome grades.

Right now I'm taking part-time summer classes, and looking for a job.

Still dealing with the troubles of going through the process of divorce, and being a single mom raising 3 kids. My parents have been quite supportive and helpful through all of this.

My ex, not so much, still the same and still denying to owe anything to his children.

But, that's his game.
If he wants to be immature like that and do that. It'll all reflect on that.

I still have another year to go and I hope I can get through it insha'Allah.
