Canadian Muslim Woman files Complaint Over Dress Code

I read this and was appalled. Is it really that much of a big deal that she did it 2" longer than the usual short mini skirt?

I would like to know if this is out of a safety precaution, or is it because for the sake of impressing the others with how GOOD you can look.

I know this sister didn't want to do it for the image of the people of looking GOOD in their eyes, in the sense of the way they wanted her to by wearing a short mini skirt. I don't think it's a big deal for her to wear a long skirt. If they had no problem with it in the beginning when she started, why start now?

Were they complaints against her because people felt she didn't follow the uniform rules of having pants or mini skirts? Is her service so unsatisfactory that she had to lose her job over this issue?

I hate it when certain places makes certain people lose their jobs because of the way they are dressed. Either they're dressed down, or they're dressed up it's all about image to them. One sister chose to wear the hijab to her work. She was working there for two years, she was having a great time. She finally decided to change herself and wear the head-scarf. Her employers, her boss and co-workers all knew she was a Muslim. They had no problem with it until she started wearing the head-scarf. Next thing she knew she was out of a job.

Of course, they really didn't say specifically it was because of her hijab. Their excuse was they had to lay off a few people and unfortunately she had to be the one to go. It's a mere coincidence that it just happened around the time she decided to wear it.

Then, there is another one in where she is a Muslim but, does not cover and was told in order to work here for us you would have to.

I think, it's no one's duty or rights to tell someone how they should be able to dress. If they want to dress modestly that's up to them. And remember, in the end everything is between them and Allah Alone. So, us making complaints isn't going to make the person change their mind. In fact, they'll be more determined just to spite you.

So , remember that next time when you come across someone like that.

Pizza Hut & Nothing But

So, I tried one of the Pizza Huts here. A couple of friends of mine and I went out for dinner here. We got into the restaurant and rather than us being seated at our seats, we were told to find our own seats anywhere we wanted. Since, there was no one really in the restaurant besides ourselves, and a few other guys seated at another table, we sat at a booth near a window overlooking below outside in the busy streets.

We settled in, and were given our menus only two menus for us three, however, one was in Arabic, and the other in English.

We took only a couple of minutes to decide what we wanted and waited for the waiter to show up to take our orders. He didn't show up. We had to flag him down. We decided on a special deal price for 4, 2 medium specialty pizzas, with 4 garlic bread, 4 drinks, and an order of salad.

We decided to go for cheese garlic bread, and the vegetarian and meat lovers specialty pizzas with the cheese bites at the ends as crusts.

Then, we saw an appetizer that said grilled shredded chicken in BBQ sauce rolled up in a tortilla bread, and with salsa as dip. These looked good, so we ordered that as well.

I asked for an Orange Fanta, whereas my two friends asked for Pepsi.
Several minutes later, they brought us our table mats, our forks, and knives. Then, we were given our salad plate to get our own salad.

We waited several other minutes, and our drinks were brought. They forgot my Orange Fanta. I was given a Pepsi instead. I told them, I didn't order a Pepsi. They shrugged their head like they forgot what I ordered and I told them again that I wanted an Orange Fanta. They nodded and went away.

My friends started taking sips of their Pepsi in a plastic glass. They were given straws and we were told that they ran out of ice so the drinks were not cold at all, but, very warm.
Several minutes passed again, and the garlic bread with cheese was brought. We ate that up and I was wondering where my drink was, and why it was taking them so long to get the drink.

Were they making it fresh? Were they out in the back squeezing oranges, adding the baking soda, sugar and adding the water? They sure were taking a very long time to bring my drink.
I asked again, and was told it was coming. They brought a can several minutes later and gave me a straw. Where was my plastic cup? Why didn't I get one? They didn't say as to why I was given just a measly can, where my friends were given plastic cups.

So, we waited, and waited and wondered where these chicken tortillas were. Finally, our pizzas came. Talk about small little things. This is what they call a medium pizza? We were thinking, we should have gone with one pizza with these cheese bites at the end, and using another with the normal pan crust.

As we ate our pizza slices, we kept pondering as to if they simply forgot our appetizer and whether or not, they would charge us for it. And if they did charge us for it, would we object and refuse to pay the bill? And would they simply force us to pay, even though we didn't get the order? What would their excuse be?

We waited, and waited as we listened to some 80's music playing. They played several songs by Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, and a few dozen others while we were still waiting for the waiters.

We saw one and asked for our bill and to pack up the rest of our food in 3 separate boxes. We even divided how we wanted each of the slices onto our plates. He took the leftovers away and brought back all of the leftovers in ONE box.

We asked for a smaller take away one as we all had to go our own separate ways and we wanted to split them between the three of us. So, they took the box away again and came back several minutes later with 3 personal size boxes and the big box again for us to split it our own way.

*Whew* You think that would be over now? Nope, we were still waiting for our bill. We waited, and pondered if they were using the old method of counting it by hand. Nope, we saw them calculating everything onto the cash register and here he brought our bill.

So, he did charge us after all for the chicken tortillas even though we didn't get it. He insisted he did serve it to us, and we told him clearly we didn't get it, and we weren't going to pay for something that we didn't get and he should take it off.

He tried to smile and laugh about his mistake and try to tell us we should still pay for it anyways and he'll prepare the order for us which will take another several minutes probably another 30 minutes or so to prepare.

We declined and said no, take it off our bill, we have to go homes to our families please. So, after 15 minutes of waiting, they took it off our bill and we paid and wondered how much we should tip him?
50 cents? 75 cents? My friend opted to tip him only 75 cents I think, got up and gathered our things and headed back.

I would say this place needs improvement BIG time. They would need better customer service as what they clearly displayed was not accepted at all. So my review for that place out of a ten would be a 4. Yes, the food was alright, not that bad, but, still they need to improve it better if they want to reach a 10 or even for me to go pass 6.

Honestly, do you think we did the right thing in complaining about the food taking so long? And the right thing about refusing to pay for something we clearly did not order?

Email me your opinions, and comments and even if you have similar experiences such as this, share it if you can or wish, and we can sit back and relate and say: "When will they ever learn?"

The location of this Pizza Hut is in Amman, Jordan on University Street, right next to the Popeyes and all the other Fast Food restaurants.

Colors of My Walls & Carpets

Assalamu alaikum wr wb

I have not posted here in ages because I have been busy with the children, and living here in Amman, Jordan.

In less than two weeks, I'll be moving into a new apartment in where I will have to decide right this week, actually going in a day or two the colors for my walls and the colors for my carpets.

Now, I picked out a few colors here and there for both of them. However, my husband has other plans or other colors in mind. For example, he wanted a grey color for the walls and carpet telling me it looks sophiscated. I think gray just looks dull. I don't like gray carpets nor gray walls. No offense, to anyone that has that in their homes, but, to me gray just sounds *Blech*

A friend of mine even agreed that gray would look like a hospital or a mental institution, which I said perfect place for where my hubby would want to dwell in if he got to pick this color. But, this is our home, and since I'll be living in it more than he will because he'll be at work.

He practically lives at work too, so having it in his colors what for? It should be comfy to me since I'll be here most of the time with the children and myself. Yes, I'll be entertaining tons of sisters in the area and I think most of them would agree that my colors are nice too.

He should just give it a chance, I'm really not that bad with colors so I really don't know why he seems to think that way. Alhamdulillah, I do know I shouldn't really complain because there has been worse cases in where people don't really have a choice at all. It's my "final say" and that's it. At least, he's not necessarily saying, "It's my final say, my final decision, not your choice but, mine."

But, still I want to be able to pick my own colors since I'll be here for quite a few years.

So, I thought about my room with a nice medium-light lavender/lilac color. I'm sorry, but, I really love that color. For the longest time I have loved that color and I'm never sick of that color. I think that color on my walls would go nicely.

My hubby disagrees, especially if it's for "our room" he says. I said, "ok not our room than perhaps the ladies salon." He disagreed, I said "ok. How about the kitchen?" He disagreed again and said the kitchen and bathroom had tiles so you didn't need color in there. Am I suppose to pick the broom closet as a place for me to pick my own colors for the walls and carpet? So, this tiny little room where if I were to stretch, really stretch my arms out wide I could be touching both sides this is where I'm suppose to get to pick my own colors? That doesn't seem right or fair at all. So, my room or our room it is. :D

It's not like I picked a bad color, it's a nice flowery, scented color for the walls. It'll add a nice brightness to the room. I picked a nice pistachio light green for the carpet. I'll even pick an ivory black one if he disagrees as both go really nice with the lilac. But, I think he wanted me to go for the beige, a medium beige or a gold with that. I told him that those didn't go well at all.

I even went on this one site called http://www.shawfloors.com and here it showed me a range of carpet styles and colors and I could also do one of where it would show how it would look in the room, and you could pick colors of the walls to match it accordingly.

I think the color I picked for "our room" will look nice. It just needs a chance. It'll work and eventually in the end he'll see that I'm right. He should realize that by now after 10 years of marriage that I'm almost always right. Even all his friends will comment to him on something and he'll agree even though that was my opinion and he says it sounded better from his friend than from me. *rolls eyes*

As for the boys room, I decided on a light blue for the walls and a dark green for the carpet. Or even going with 2 walls of the light blue color and 2 walls of the light green color and a dark green carpet. My boys want to use the blue for the top of the walls going all the way around for the sky color, and use the bottom half including the carpet for the green for the grass. They want to hang little balls from the ceiling as their planets, and put some cotton on the walls for clouds and hang a sun picture and a moon picture. I told them their glow in the dark stickers could work really nice on the ceiling.

My hubby thinks these colors will just make the room look like a "fun clown house" and he wanted to go with a more entertaining look. I told him, these are the children's room, if you go with an entertaining look rather than a look that they're pleased with. They won't really look forward to being in their rooms or sleeping. They won't enjoy their time here, rather they'll look forward to returning back as quickly as possible because their opinions don't matter.

Besides, why should their room look entertaining anways? It's a kids room. Who are you going to entertain in there other than other children? Other children won't find the gray or beige colors as "fun" colors. Not to mention the mess they'd make and beige and gray you would definitely see it.

Now, there's my daughter's Daliyah's room and it'll also be used as a guest room for overnight guests to stay in. This room will be a light-medium pink walls color and a dark pink carpet. Again, he disagrees saying another color would be better. I think going with a medium dark color for the carpets, especially in the kids room is better, less messier than a light color.

I know, he looks at his friends places, the ones that have no children and say, "Check theirs out it's nice." But, remember because they have no children they go with colors that will go according to them. Sure, they can pick nice light colors and pick furniture that will go with them. But, glass tables, and dining tables and coffee tables with glass in them don't work well with children at all. It does not matter if you don't allow your children in certain rooms where these items are, accidents happen and it's better to be safe than sorry.

Now the ladies salon and men's salon have already been picked and we've pretty much AGREED on the colors of the walls and the carpets in there. That is pretty much surprising too. But, we're going according with what the carpets and our floor sofas are matching with.

I do want to add additional items to the house to make it more homely and more comfy to me. I have a picture in my mind as to how I want things to look, and where I want things to go and organize it. It's all in my head. I just have to take the steps into getting it done and insha'Allah hopefully it'll look as good as in my head as it is in real life.

If anyone has any suggestions or comments I would appreciate it. Please be kind though, the last time I really blogged. That is, when I really blogged I got a lot of unkind comments that made me feel that I really couldn't post much on my blog without people pointing fingers and giving me stern looks.

Yes, I have issues but people have issues, this is why we feel better when we vent and rant and especially writing down here it's all out and not bottled up inside causing more stress which is not healthy at all.

Alhamdulillah, I'll try to post as often as I can. I don't know if I'll be able to be as active as my other blogging friends. But, we'll see insha'Allah and only time will tell.

On a note to end this entry I'll leave it at, if any sisters in Amman want to help me with organizing, unpacking and watching the kids feel free to contact me. :) I'll be more than happy to accept your gracious offer. Now, I just need to figure out where I'm going to get 20-30 really big boxes for me to put my things into.

Someone suggested I should just put them into plastic bags and garbage bags and carry them back and forth. Ok, I know it's only a 5 min walk away and only a 1-2 min drive away. But, who has all that energy to go back and forth with heavy plastic bags? I rather get the mini truck to load all our things. But, I don't want to do it all in one day. I want to space it out within these two weeks and move the things that I'm not using right now there now. And, all the things that I'm using to get there eventually when I get there.

So, my kids aren't going to read all their books on their bookshelf right now. They'll read a few here and there, so to go with their favorite books and putting that aside and taking the rest to the new place would be better. Same for the children's toys and my things. Just putting them aside at the new place and then at the final end moving the rest of them will be less stressful.

With my sinusitis (severe headaches) and allergy, and asthma attacks these past 3 months I think I want to try to take it easy as much as possible. But, also move before the cold hits in.

:) JazakuAllahkhairun for reading. So all comments are appreciated.

new baby on the way

Just in case you didn't know or hear. This would explain why I haven't been posting in ages and all.

But I'm expecting my 3rd child. I'm due in Jan 6th, 2006. It'll be a girl so I'm looking forward to that.

Both my other two sons are doing well, keeping themselves busy as well as the usual of driving me up the wall.

I wonder how I'll manage with 3 kids? Insha'Allah (God Willing) it'll get better.
So that's my news.

clueless doctors

Check it out
Without a doubt
The clueless doctors who don't know any better,
They just make assumptions and write a letter.
They do not know what is really going on,
So they tell you whatever you want to hear,
which is truly, purely a con.
So what if you don't get it, or understand,
so what if you're in pain, they won't hold your hand.
They say your pain is only mild,
Yet if I had my strength I'd fight back and go wild.
The sharp, intensive, poking pain,
Was driving all my insides incredibly insane.
I didn't know who to turn to, or what to feel,
They couldn't tell me a straightforward answer so I could heal,
They couldn't tell me the real deal,
I felt sickened to my stomach as I held onto the wheel.
Take this and you'll be fine after a month or two,
If that doesn't work last solution is surgery for you.
Not again I said could this be possibly true,
What am I going to do?
She sent me on my way, without a single care,
As I went to ask her a question, I discovered she wasn't there.
She left in a rush, not wishing me luck or well,
I got back into the car, and wished her to hell.
We rode back home in silence taking in all that she said,
Her roughness, toughness, cold and rudeness, as my kids went off to bed.
As I sit here pondering on what else to do,
I can't help thinking of these clueless doctors that make me feel so blue.
Why can't one doctor just sit down and see,
We are people too, and have feelings to be.
Yet we're just treated like nothing and we're worth like crap,
And here I am rhyming this pathetic little rap.
good night

This is me as a child, I'm comparing how Isa and Ibrahim are and how much they I see myself in them each day. This was when i was at least 3 years old.  Posted by Hello

Life gets rough and tough and people wonder what's going on,
yet here you sit and ponder about the day's outcome.
Subhan'Allah, where did the time go?
how did it go so fast? Wasn't it a minute ago that you woke up in the bright morn?
Now it's fading to darkness and you realize that the minutes went by so quickly, and
before you knew it the days past by as well as weeks and months to years
and you were once a young child now are a young adult.
and your kids are going through the same thing yet they are sitting there pondering about the life and here you are pondering about whether or not you will make it or not, meaning whether or not if they will drive you insane or crazy and all of that put together because afterall that's what kids do best, they drive their parents crazy, especially their mom as its their job to watch her and look at her and see what she's typing.

Right now as I type this, Ibrahim is looking at me typing this and asking me who I am talking to. Should I tell him it's the blog. My blog... yup... It's my blog. that's who I'm talking to. The entire world... It's a small world afterall...

Bumper Boats, where's my coat?

Assalamu alaikum wr wb.

I woke up when Isa came into my room, he patted my face as he told me he loved me and told me to wake up as he was hungry. Glancing at the clock it read 9am and I groaned as i pretended I was still sleeping yet he pulled at my ears and my arm and said come on get up so i said ok ok just give me a minute. He said grab your glasses up there, pointing to the top shelf where my glasses laid and I said its not necessary as I went downstairs. Grabbing a cereal bowl and some cereal in it with milk and also some chocolate milk into his cup then bringing it back upstairs. I put a mat on the floor and told him here eat up as i laid down to sleep. Within minutes though I was fast asleep, i didn't wake up again until Isa woke me up again to tell me he was finished and needed a diaper change. So I woke up and made sure his bowl was empty and went to examine the whole house to make sure he didn't throw his food away anywhere and didn't see it. I even went as far as to checking all the rooms, including bathrooms to check and even downstairs and coast looked like it was clear. So then I went back up and changed his diaper. then i checked the clock it was only 10am. so as I was laying down, Isa layed next to me as he started talking to me, I understood little bits and parts of what he was saying but the rest I didn't understand though I pretended I did just so his feelings wouldn't get hurt because he's extra sensitive, subhan'Allah just telling him one thing will get him to go to his room to cry.

Well we were playing ball, and having some fun and it was just cool, that he was once so young and could barely move and here he was talking to me and I totally understood what he was saying and doing and I knew when he was trying to be sneaky, i just knew and it was because i was once that way or at least from what I remember myself as and I thank my parents for having patience to put up with me and still do :)

After awhile we went bumper boats with my husband Abdullah and my older son Ibrahim,
it was an alright day... a little sunshine in the sky and a little bit of wind.
there was a huge crowd at the place where it was, a party going on, and a lot of people playing golf and minature golf. There was only a few handful of people playing go karts and bumper boats so when we went there it wasn't that crowded. IT was hilarious and fun...though I was bumped right under the waterfall.... as I got totally drenched in, i couldnt move to get out or get away as I stood under the waterfall for at least 30 seconds to a minute before i figured out how to get out. We were able to be on the bumper boats for at least 30 mins or so because there was no one there, though right before we were getting off some other people started showing up so the guy let us stay on for another 15 mins longer and i was like wow this is a good prize 5 dollars for a 45 min ride...masha'Allah.... Ibrahim had his very own bumper boat, and Abdullah was in another with Isa and then I was alone in one. Perhaps I should have taken Isa with me, and if I did i don't think i would have stood under the waterfall for that long. SubhanAllah if Isa was not with his father i would have pushed him too but my husband didn't think so and I said he's a little kid, he didn't do anything except be there with you, and wouldn't want him to go through that.
Isa though did not like the bumper boats, perhaps he was just in one of those cranky moods, or whatever, but he was basically crying every time he got squirted with the water and i told my husband let him try to squirt us and we'll try to di rect the squiring just at you and not at him and as i kept getting my husband i would apologize to Isa saying sorry baby it's for your baba not you..... its just water..wheee..lol.. then the guy called us and off we went.

so then we went on the go karts as then i realized it hit me.. i was freezing cold...i was totally drenched as I stood up the water was draining away from me, my clothes were all stuck to me and these were very modest and loose clothes. I felt as if my hijab was glued to my head, and we did 5 laps of the go karts and that was good though the gas fumes made me feel ill.

then we went to a restaurant called Friendly's while we ate some mozerella sticks and french fries, and i had a hot chocolate... then we had some ice cream..... despite that i was cold, freezing cold, i ended up getting an apple pie ala mode, and my hubby got a mud pie mode. It was good but very cold and as I left i went to the grocery store and did my thing.
then came out and went home and well I put away all the groceries, and then i came here...
:)
my kids are settled on down.... asleep....
and where am i? here...where else would i be?

Ok ok i know this must sound a bit lame,
I changed my blog templates so I'm to blame.
I tried to fix the background and add a bit more spunk
And I think I made it sink down further that it stunk.

Subhan'Allah what am I to do?
Surely there must be something oh i feel so blue
Sure perhaps this poem doesn't sound right
Who cares? it's my blog, i wont go without a fight.
Ok, I'm only kidding, joking around.
I guess from the day I've had my brain has left me, and hiding to be found.
Perhaps I should get offline and read a book
Called "A Voice by Umm Zakiyya, " why don't you take a look?

I've always loved to read, though I'm trying to find the time,
Perhaps I should read now instead of writing this rhyme.
Though I feel like Jammin' Rantin', and Rave,
It's just my thoughts, my feelings, CHOCOLATE i crave!

So I'm listening to my son's programs tunes run in my head,
If they don't stop I'll go crazy and probably end up dead.
Tell me if you like to hear Dora the Explorer, or Blue Clues rock,
The Lazytown get up on your feet, as my jaws begin to lock.
Ya Rab! Ya Allah! Help me insha'Allah I pray,
That you protect my children and my family every day.
These tunes seem to be so easy to remember and learn,
yet the words of Allah, are in there, as I turn.
so here is my rant, my rave, my news of blue
My poems of life, my family and you.

so..... comment if you please and please be kind
remember Allah is All-Hearing,all-Seeing, do not be blind.
If you want, i'm still fixing my blog
have some patience, and i'll post more though i wont be a hog
I'll let everyone have their own say
afterall this is my blog.....come on out and play....
Yet make dhikr, dua'ah and pray.
ask Allah for forgiveness and not lead you astray.

:)

Isa my little baby boy,
He's such a cutie a wonderful joy
He talks a lot of words and sentences too
Loves to mimic, and sing.....and sneeze achoo.

So he grabbed his arthur vitamins and started to eat
I told him only one is enough, as i pinched his seat
.He gave a yelp and said want more candy right now
I said this is not candy, its vitamins so dont have a cow
He started to cry and reached in for a bite
Right on my arm getting ready to kick, scream and fight
.I told him if he was mad he should go to his room
Sort out his anger, get a time out, go dust and broom
.He said he was mad because I wouldn't give in
I told him this isn't your grandparents home as you cant win
He said that's not fair as he stomped away
I said yes it is, now continue your play
He closed his door and I could hear him crying
I felt bad as he didnt understand his lying.
I went on in and gave him a hug
As he pushed me away then we saw a bug

ARGH!!!
we yelled as Ibrahim came running in
Said that's only a centipede, lets get a pin
So we vaccummed it up and had some juice
last one up is a dirty rotten egg you silly goose.
yes i know my poem is starting to get lame
but can you blame
me as I feel ashamed.

This poem is going on alone by me
I want others to post as this is the jammin' poem thread cant you see?
Continue this game and write what you feel
Write about yourself and your deal
ok... this is it i'll write no moreas my time is up...
.and my fingers are sore.so take on care
and hope you'll have fun
visit this place again and again as its #1....
Ibrahim wrote this book just a few hours ago,
About his heros, the ones he respected you know.
He drew the pictures as best as he could,
Wrote a nice story about them as he should.
Then he stapled it and clipped it on the wall
Said I want to publish this and show it to them all.
I told him he had to do his very best,
Don't worry about what others say, as this is your test.

Work on your handwriting making sure its not a mess
Making your story readable and not making people guess.
He nodded his head and said that's a great idea and thank you,
He said I'll dedicate them all to you too.
He gave me this hug and a kiss on the cheek,I said ok ok...
jazakuAllahkhairun you little sneak.
That's when he started to say,How did you know that was my plan to play
I told him Im his mother and I knew him very well
I said you shouldnt play tricks like that as the place will be hell.
He said I'm sorry I just didn't know,
I'm just a child, I make mistakes, should i go?
I said no no, that's not necessary but just remember for next time,
He said mommy how did you end up writing this rhyme?
I said that's my talent as it has been passed onto you
Value it and use it for good or we'll be through
Do good things and dont decieve another,
as in the quran and hadith its written for your muslim brother.
He said I promise I'll do my bestafterall this is one of Allah's Test.
alhamdulillah I say now let's get readytime to sleep, nice and steady...
( the trick he played was that he was kissing up to me to get something, he wanted some more choc milk with some cookies before his lunch time).
my mom was here just the other day,
She brought along my kids and didnt want to stay
She said how much of a mess
that I've becomeand how much I resemble the life of a bum.
I was so upset and I started to cry
I asked her what made her say that and why
She shook her head and said don't you know
your life
is for your kids, family, not some silly show.
She didn't understand that I wanted to do

She said this dunya is important working on it too
She said it is better if you get a job and work
and send your kids to school, dont be a jerk.
I excused myself and left the room
slammed the door kaboom.
went to my computer and sat on the floor
I said how much can I take?
possibly no more.
I made dua'ah and said a prayer
Went downstairs and said im not a player
I told her I knew what was best for me
and if she truly loved me, respected me she'd see
The true beauty inside wanting to come out
Wanting to increase my deen, my dhikr a shout
She said that's not the best you can do
I'm only saying this to you because it's true
I told her Thank you, but no thanks I'm fine
My family is ok, my kids are with me as they're mine
I know what's best for them as I'm a mother that cares
I'm different in raising them as I'm willing to share
Even though I'm raising them in a different tone of light
I'm teaching them right from wrong without a fight.
This is best for me and I hope you will agree
This is my life, my family, its not all about me.
It's about teaching others, learning, and most of all benefitting
instead of wasting time watching tv,
listening to music and just basically doing nothing by sitting.
what's wrong with that she asks this is what you use to do
I said that figures look at me that's why im a mess cuz of you.
She said that hurt and I said now you know,
How I must feel that you're understand
I must go
she said fine do whatever you want to do
but when stuff happens to you dont come crying to me
as my help to you is through
I said why wont you support me and just let me on my own
She said you're not ready yet, as I moan and groan.

She said the time is not right,
and your father and I know best
We know this is a Test,
better than the rest.
I told her look I'm almost reaching an older age,
You got to let me go, make my own decisions let me out of the cage.
She said is that what you think that I've trapped you within
I said looks like it, feels like it, thick and thin.
That's when my dad said that's enough let her do her life
That's her duty as she's married as a muslim wife.
I said thank you and i really value, respect you
so
I said I thank you for helping me
but this is my life i must show They said ok fine...
we'll be behind you all the way
We just dont want you to leave and go astray
I told them that is fine and I wouldnt dare to slip
And im sorry for yelling at them and giving them lip
then they said that was fine as this was what I had to do
get it all out of my system,
not hold it inside as its apart of you.So that's my story...
it's nearly at the endmy kids are back with me, my parents and I have made ammends.Alhamdulillah,
this life gives you one test after another
and in the end we are all still muslim sisters and brothers.
though im starting to fall asleep
so im gonna go soon and not make a peep
my hubby's in a deep sleep
though he's talking in babbles cannot understand a word
he's thinking he's back in school,
trying to be a nerd.
im serious....he just told a bully to get lost
and when i laughed he looked at me still asleep
(cant find anything to rhyme with that..lol)then went back to sleep.
see that wasn't so bad
though i guess we better call it a night
or everyone will be mad
they'll wonder why don't we post this in our blog
and as they see the room smoking into a fog
The versus discussions how they continue on and on
The backbiting, slander, gossiping pro and con
the endless, and long debates
the broken record of hates
Will it go on and on and on
when will this end
when can we stop this nonsense
and mend
work together not against each other,
afterall we are muslims sisters and brothers
alhamdulillah for what we are,
and what we'll become
but if we continue this phony act
we'll be nothing but bums.

soooo...get off your high horse and start practicing what you preach
start learning and keep on reading, and teach
Thank Allah for this wonderful day
Another chance for you to ask forgiveness and pray
Thank Allah for this beautiful night
Best to get along and not fight
Thank Allah for the rain that falls on down
Better to be happy than to wear a frown
Life is short, not easy you know
One minute you're here, then you're the next to go
Standing there waiting for your turn,
then Allah will ask you in your life what have you yet to learn?
Don't forget ME is what I told you to do
Yet you ignored it thinking its not really up to you
You did whatever you had to do because you thought you knew best
you denied all my creations, good and bad not realizing was a test
Than you wake up and realize it was only a dream
Yet you're only seconds away as it seems
Perhaps you have some time to reflect
repent to Allah and not reject
increase your love, remembrance and deen,
and realize islam is the best you've ever seen.
now anyone else can try too
its easy and i'll post after you
a good idea would be to keep a dictionary around
,than read all the words, write them and rhymin' to be found
It works when you know what you're going to say
it helps with asking Allah and not go astray
It helps to make dhikr, dua'ah and pray
That you do not listen to bad things,
just walk away.

soooo...con't on whomever wishes to go,
i must go eat, so continue on with the flow
jammin' rhymin' smashin' in this thread
remembering Allah and most important of all
not allowing yourself to be dead.
dead to the world to the society's slave
agreeing with the media and not being brave
being on the billboard of the advertisement sign
ignoring what all that is said by your parents

Sooo....be true to yourself and to the One
realize that Allah has no son
No partner has He, nor nothing can compare
Ignore those lies that you cannot bare
Be honest and have faithbelief, and do not debate
nor spread hate
be good to yourself and others around you
on that shelf
Grab a book
take a look
the beautiful words of Allah
cannot be beat
especially on the Day of Judgment,
the Jannah and the Hellfire heat.
Which way do you want to go?
The easy path of life and light?
Or the hard path of darkness and flight.
so do your own thing you know what's best
realize your life on this world is just merely a Test.

Apologizing in advance for flooding your screen,
Just posting up my poems, to increase my deen.
Memories or reminders you pick and guess
,if you want me to continue on just say yes.
JazakuAllahkhairun for giving me the strength,
Speaking my mind, remembering Allah is what I meant.
Poems are about feelings and saying what you feel,
Sometimes it's all about yourself the real deal.
Write what you feel, and feel what you write,
Its better to rhyme rather than to fight.
It's better to make dua'ah, dhikr and pray.
It's better to sit down when you're angry and walk away.
It's better to do many things that we are told to do,
It's better to be strong, keep faith and be true.
Alhamdulillah for my faith in the ONE,
and my poem is over for now, though this thread has just begun
wow havent seen this thread for a while,
looking back on memories,
pile after pile.
Looking at all that i have wrote,
Not wanting to brag, or gloat.

Masha'Allah, we are talented as can be,
Jammin' rhymes as the waves in the sea.
Alhamdulillah this thread is back to the top
Nothing can beat us, we'll continue and not stop
Alhamdulillah for our writing hands,
Everyone's minds can understand.
We can all relate
and not hesitate
that these poems are true
and its about the world around us too

Subhan'Allah we really should reflect
about our spirituality and not reject
Make dhikr, dua'ah and lots of prayers,
Dress up modestly, layer after layers.
we were in the masjid making our wudu,
and isa says to me, i know what to do too.
We leave the room to make our salat
and he bows down to pray and makes his rakat.
He listens to the beautiful recitation of the qur'an,
and starts prayin'tells me he understands
what they are all sayin
'i give a huge hug and hang onto him real tight,
and he smiles as i can see nur in his face,
the light.i say Masha'Allah as tears begin to form,
and the ppl from the uni say their ameens and return to their dorm.
I wipe the tears from my eyes and say,
May Allah protect you and in each and every way.
May Allah continue to help them and make sure they pray,
trust in You, remember You, and not be led astray.
That's when I know there's lots of work to be done,
stop wasting my time, make dhikr and say Allah is ONE.
Ahad, ahad is what they both shout,
and ppl wonder what they're talking about.
I explain to them what is going on and they shrug,
and scream out that they saw a huge, slimy, 100 legs bug.

I make my dua'ah, and put on my shoes
I say Allah help this masjid not be confused.
Help our youth today to become closer to You,
because good and bad all comes from You too
and we must remain strong, and know you were not wrong.
and that you will help us to be true
cuz Allah we love you..

so this is the end of my long rhyme,
its past midnight, and im out of time.
so insha'Allah i'll make dua'ah and hope it's right,
to continue to make dhikr, and not to fight.
JazakuAllahkhairun for all that you've said
but now it's time for me to go to bed

a really sad thing happened just the other day,
i was at the masjid, and cleaning up to pray
The brothers opened the door and did not realize,
Kids were running about, perhaps they were hyponotize.
Isa got out the door, as brother grabbed him up
Brought him inside as I thanked him and gulped
The 2nd time he ran,
I asked him to stopbut that didnt work
cuz the 3rd time he ran a big FLOP!
the 4th time he ran out the door, the lady next door grabbed him
before a car came so close to hit him and he'd be no more
I started to cry as i held him on tight,
I hugged and kissed him with all my might.
I told him little one what was his game?
Why was he playing this, why am i to blame?
As the others looked in and gathered around,
I knew my hubby had left, i was alone,
not to be found. My day didn't go that great after that,
Would you believe it it was my 7th anniversary as a matter of fact
Did I have a day of relaxation and time?
No of course i didnt, i was making a list, and this rhyme.
Instead my day was filled with jumping about,
Chasing after isa, keeping up with him,
and giving it a shout!STOP
I said, but he ran real fast
said cant catch me mommy, you're last! nah nah!
I do not know what to do,
My hubby thinks its a piece of cake too
To look after kids he thinks its easy as 123
I told him why not try it for a day or two
He said that's not my job, it's just for youI told him then dont talk
about what you dont know to do
he said just be like me, firm, and let him know you're the boss
and i told him it isnt that easy and he said that's your loss
and i told him look why dont you try to chase him all about,
he said i'll just grab his hand have him sit down no doubt
and i told him he would get up and do his game again
and he said not with me he wont with you he can do whatever
he likes and get away with it,cuz you're his mother, your soft on him
and i dont like it one bit.
and i told him its natural as every mother is like this,
afterall i carried him for 9 long months, looked after him,
and wouldnt miss.
and he said that's not the point,
the point is to make sure he's all simmered down,
to make sure he behaves and does not run out of town
i told him all 2 yr olds run all aboutdrives their mothers insane
as they give out a shout
he said that is no excuse, and i will not let you say
i will show you how easy it is, and ask you to pray
Perhaps its cuz of what he sees,
perhaps we can do something about it and it'll be a breeze.
I rolled my eyes as I sighed and looked at him,
said i give up, calling my mother to come on in
he said that's not easy to give up just like that
i said i dont know, i dont care.. it doesnt matter as i sat on the mat.
He too sighed as he took Isa on in, sat him down on his lap and said
Dont you spit, dont you throw, dont you bite, dont you know?
Isa shouted no and did what he always doI told you, i warned you,
did you listen to me? no..you didnt too..so then he took him to his room and closed the door,
isa cried, kicked and screamedi closed my eyes, and went to sleep to dreamed
after a few mins he was asleep
went inside kissed him, tucked him in as i didnt hear a peep
Though today was a day where he did basically the same ole thing
ran around, made a mess, spilled some juice,
dropped some crumbs, did all that he could do,
hubby saw the disaster and said what's this goo?
I told him ask Isa as that's his own mess,
but it wasnt ibrahim or I, as I must confess.
he said you must teach Isa to pick up after himself
,i said he's 2..he said doesnt matter teach him a thing or two.
So that's my story for the past couple of days,
lousy weekend...my eyes are filled with haze.
I feel kinda down, dont know what to do
perhaps i should make dhikr, make dua'ah.
perhaps i feel better now that i wrote this all down, dont know
what i would do without you guys for sticking around

jazakuAllahkhairun for letting me say the words
that i could say, thank Allah for giving me life, letting me
survive and taking care of my kids each day.
till again tomorrow..or the day after and after that.i'll have more to post
about their adventures, perhaps about their cat.
sniff sis that was beautiful and that really made my day,

jazakuAllahkhairun for reminding of being patient, true, and to pray
.now i must go to sleep or my eyes will fall
i guess i'll share more tomorrow with you all.
